14 DESIGN HOTELS™ MEMBERS IN CONDÉ NAST HOT LISTS 2013
Design Hotels™ is pleased to announce that several member properties have been named among the ‘Best New Hotels in the world’ on Condé Nast Travel(l)er’s Hot Lists 2013. Many of the member hotels made it on to the list in both the US and UK edition of the world's leading travel publications. In total 14 Design Hotels™' members have been awarded, more than any other hotel consortia or chain.

DESIGN HOTELS™ OFFICE EARTHCHECK ASSESSED
Not only our member hotels can get EarthCheck certified: we are pleased to announce that our head office has just achieved EarthCheck Bronze Status by completing the first stage of the EarthCheck certification program. The office was assessed in reference to performance in Energy, Carbon, Water, Waste, Community, Paper, Cleaning Products and Pesticides. The results show that five indicators are at or above the Best Practice level (Energy Consumption, Carbon, Potable Water Consumption, Waste, and Pesticides). We are not perfect though; we still have room for improvements in two areas being Water Efficiency and Recycled content of Paper Products.

We’re taking on the mobile photo-sharing platform Instagram as our next social media challenge . And because our member hotels are part of a well-traveled community with a keen aesthetic sense, we want to involve everyone to make the most of it! The Design Hotels™ account has just over 900 followers; we are asking our followers to tag us using our hashtags #designhotels or #madebyoriginals – a way of linking back to us – and we are approaching 1,000 photos focused on travel and design.
